With the unique d1000 rules system dubbed Synthesis already into place, they’re already looking at possible supplements. About the Game

The game, which is due to be released on the 14th of February, 2018, will feature all major characters, events and vehicles the Iron Sky film team has the copyright of, as well as universal rules which will allow gamers to tweak their game to match any genre or setting. It includes innovative mechanics, such as silhouettes and crosshairs or bullseyes printed on transparent sheets to determine hit location without need for range, cover or magnification modifiers, a single-roll d1000 mechanic, easy conversion from a multitude of sources and great-looking visual aids that help game masters and other players keep track of their actions.

About the Writers

Iron Sky: The Roleplaying Game is written by Dirk Vandereyken, former Regional Director of the Role Playing Game Association, acting coach, therapist, journalist, screen writer, PR consultant and author of Fates Worse than Death: Hunter and Baour, Strands of Death. Dirk became Belgium’s youngest author ever at age 14 with the science fantasy novel IJs, de verloren planeet (Ice, The Lost Planet), which he had written three years before, and was awarded his city’s highest cultural merit. Joining Dirk is a team of experienced RPG writers, some of whom have even been nominated or have won ENnies – the RPG industry’s Oscar equivalent: Steven S. Long (Aberrant, Deadlands, HERO System, In Nomine, Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Game, Mage: The Ascension, Star Trek: The Next Generaton Roleplaying Game, Star Trek: The Original Series Roleplaying Game, Trail of Cthulhu, etc.) Michael Satran (HERO System), Michael Surbrook (Dark Heresy, Here Be Dragons, HERO System, Rogue Trader), Stephen Tasker (HERO System, The Underground: A Sam & Fuzzy Role Playing Game, Metatopia), Jason Walters (HERO System, The Vast White, Indie Press Revolution, Blackwyrm, Hero Games), Beth Rimmels (The Vampire Codex, Stripped), and Darren Watts (Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space, HERO System, Silver Back Press). Also along for the ride are newbies Andy De Maertelaere and aerospace engineer Hans De Ryck. With designer Cedric Van der Kelen and Gerry Kissell (The Agency, Alan Wake, Army of Two, Back to the Future, Iron Sky, Vanquish, etc.) also on board and taking care of many of the illustrations and a lot of the artwork, the book and its supplements are sure to look amazing!

About the Franchise

After the original Iron Sky hit film festivals in 2012, distributors were lining up to get the quirky 7.5 million dollar film to the masses. Boasting tongue-in-cheek humor, excellent special effects and the likes of German cult actor Udo Kier, the film was firmly rooted within the pulp SF genre, pitting the heroes against four-color Nazi villains from the Moon and using comedy to showcase the stupidity and ignorance of extreme ideologies. Iron Sky managed to haul in no less than 4 major awards and 2 more nominations, allowing the film team to expand its universe into a franchise which also included a board game, a comic and a first attempt at a computer game and a novel. More importantly, the 18-million dollar sequel, which is due to be released on the 14th of February, will be creating a much more elaborate playground to toy around with. Set 25 years after the events in the original feature, Iron Sky The Coming Race will include other pulp tropes, such as a hollow earth and an evil shapeshifting race that has been hiding underneath the surface, plotting against mankind, before revealing itself to the world again.

More film projects and an entire TV series have been announced, including spin-off Iron Sky: The Ark, which is being developed for the Chinese market, and a TV series prequel which will reveal how the Nazis were able to get to the dark side of the Moon.
